 The Process

You've decided to invest in a video for your company. Depending on type of video you choose, we may schedule a video shoot at your location. You may be wondering, “What’s next?” Here are some important details to help you prepare for your shoot.

Location

  • A few days prior to filming, inform your staff that there will be a video team coming - this will give them the chance to dress for and be comfortable on the day of the shoot.
  • Make sure the shoot occurs during a time when ambient sound is as minimal as possible (you’ll want to turn off overhead speakers for the duration of filming).
  • Finally, make sure your work environment is tidy and ready to be captured on film.

Spokespeople

  • There’s almost no prep required for anyone who will be on camera. Send them a short, encouraging email with the date and time of the shoot.

Day of the Shoot

  • Your Video crew will arrive at the arranged time and location.
  • They will ask for a brief tour and set up the equipment - this will take approximately 30 minutes.
  • They will evaluate the lighting and will most likely require two power outlets.
  • The Videographer will attach a small microphone, called a lavaliere or “lav mic”, to whomever is being interviewed.
  • The team will shoot your location and relevant b-roll for the video.
  • Should you attempt to make changes to the project during the shoot, your video team has been instructed to stop the shoot and contact us for guidance (for quality assurance). Delays will occur and you will be charged for any additional costs.

Signing Releases

  • The video team will bring release documents to be signed the day of the shoot. They must be signed before we can release the video to you.
  • These documents are used for all forms of film, television and video productions, and ensure that all persons and images appearing in your video are legally cleared for use.

 

Remember...

  • Anyone who appears on camera will need to sign a release.
  • A location release must be signed by an authorized person to permit shooting on site.
  • A cancellation charge will apply if you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled shoot date.
